A recent week away in Palm Springs of course included a bit of research into the local libraries, including Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, and the Riverside County systems. This trip I only made it to a couple.
I thought Palm Springs would be a quick stop at the Welwood Murray Memorial Library in downtown, which I thought was a branch library— but turns out it is a visitor’s center, where I was told “there hasn’t been a book in the building since the 70s”. The actual library was a bit more of a hike back down 111, in a temporary location while the main branch is under construction.
Palm Springs might be towards the top of my list of fun and unique cards, with the keychain mini-card cut at a stylish Googie slant.
